Changing our DEFAULT mechanisms

We now have an addiction, not only are we addicting to the tv…living so much life on the couch, but we are also addicted to the phone.  Both have their tremendous benefits, but they are creating us rather than us creating our own lives.  Thoughts create…I wrote an article about that…where are your thoughts coming from?
 
It is easy to research anything you want, to connect, to see what others are saying, to DEFAULT to the phone or tv…but what is that doing to our minds?  To our abilities to think for ourselves? To create?  
 
While I am grateful for my phone I see to0 many people, including myself at times, defaulting to the phone rather than living life, creating, accomplishing, connecting to a person right next to you.  Many of us don’t know our neighbors, the people living right next to us… yet we use our time to know strangers through the phone.  
 
Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for the connection, the ease, the abilities of having so much at my fingertips…yet it never beats a walk, a talk, a meditation, or a new experience.  We have an addiction….and it’s a serious one that is going to take some conscientious effort to free ourselves..
 
This is reminder to me and maybe to you…  Life is precious and I want to know myself and live it!
