We Know This… But We Forget It All Too Often

We Know This… But We Forget It All Too Often.   We all do it. We complain about the traffic, the rude driver who cut us off, the freezing weather, the endless bad news, and everything in between. It’s become so normal that we barely notice we’re doing it.

What we often forget is that every complaint carries energy.

Thoughts are energy. Words are energy. Emotions are energy. When we constantly exude negativity — even in small, casual ways — we’re not just venting. We’re creating more of it around us and within us. It’s a basic universal law: what we put out comes back to us.

The Problem Isn’t Whether Complaining Is “Justified.” You might have every right to be frustrated. That’s not the point. The real question is: Is this negativity serving you?

The moment we become aware of how much negative energy we’re generating, we also unlock the power to change it. We can begin “switching off” the complaints and intentionally creating positivity in their place.

Yes, it’s hard — especially when life feels heavy. But it’s also one of the most powerful ways to transform your daily experience.

Start Simple: Practice Gratitude. You don’t need to become a sunshine-and-rainbows optimist overnight. Start small.

Right now, even if it’s freezing outside, you can be grateful for warmth. For a hot cup of coffee. For a roof over your head. For the people who love you. For your health, your breath, the little things we take for granted.

Just pause, look around, and quietly say “thank you.” That small shift in focus is more powerful than most people realize.

Be a Realist, Not a Pollyanna. Let’s be honest — none of us will be positive all the time. Life gets tough. Bad days happen. The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is progress.

With awareness, intention, and consistent practice, you can become more positive. You can respond instead of react. You can choose your focus rather than letting circumstances choose it for you.

Train Your Mind — Your Most Powerful Tool. Every time you catch yourself in a negative spiral, try flipping it. Turn one complaint into a small moment of gratitude or a shift in perspective. Do this repeatedly, and you’ll start noticing real changes — in how you feel, how you show up, and even how others respond to you.

Try this challenge for one week:
Whenever you feel the urge to complain, consciously transform that thought into something more positive or neutral. Keep it going for seven days and observe what shifts in your mood, energy, and interactions.

I’d love to hear what you discover.
